Obituary for Mario Edward Giordano

Mario Edward J. Giordano of Richboro, Pa., passed away peacefully after a strong fight with cancer surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, January 14, 2018. He was 61 years old. Born in South Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Rocky and Thelma (nee Gill) Giordano.

He was the beloved husband of Cindy Giordano (nee Berry) and loving father of Mickey Giordano. He was also survived by his mother-in-law, Marie Berry, brother-in-laws, Joe Berry (Anne Purcell), Greg Berry, along with nieces, nephews, uncle, aunts and cousins.

Mario was a Marine Veteran, as he always noted, once a Marine, always a Marine. He was a carpenter by trade but was defined by his love of the job. Each completed job was a tribute to Mario’s professionalism and craftsmanship. He left a little bit of himself in every job he did, always proud of the end result.

Mario was a loving, involved father. Whether coaching Mickey or showing him how to use a hammer, Mario was able to teach Mickey life’s most important lessons. Time was something he always gave freely. He was a family guy who loved going to Disney and on vacations down the shore. He was a great father being involved in Mickey’s life. Mario was a wonderful husband and a friend to many. He will be remembered for his generous heart, love of family and beautiful smile that would light up a room.

Relatives and friends will be received Friday, January 19, 2018 after 9:30 AM until time of his Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Rd., Holland, Pa. 18966. Interment will be held privately at a later date at the Resurrection Cemetery .

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made for college contributions to Mickey Giordano c/o Decker Funeral Home, 216 York Road, Warminster, PA 18974, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

A special thank you to family and friends who helped support the family through this difficult time.
