Francis (Frank) W. Lowery, Jr., passed away peacefully on January 2, 2018, at Abington Hospital after a brief and sudden illness. Frank resided in Upper Darby and was a dispatcher (and general fixture) at Bux-Mont Transportation in Willow Grove for the past 21 years. Frank graduated from Central Bucks East High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Philadelphia University.
Frank was predeceased in death by his father (Frank Lowery, Sr.). He is survived by his mother, Mary Lowery; his brother Daniel Lowery (Kelly) and sister Aileen Rosenburg (Dan). He is also survived by his adoring nieces, Katie, Kendall, and Saoirse; and his nephew and godson Noah.
Frank was known for his ridiculously high intelligence, quick wit, and sarcasm, accompanied by a joyful and kind demeanor and infectious sense of humor. He was a gentle yet strong presence wherever he was, and brought positive energy to those around him. Frank enjoyed time with his family, the high-energy environment and camaraderie at his job, talking and analyzing politics, just about any kind of game, comfortable clothes, and a good beer. He was truly a unique person and will be missed.
Services and Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 9, at 11:00 at St Cyril Church in Jamison, PA (1410 Almshouse Road). Friends and family are also invited to call from 10:00-11:00am before the 11:00 am service.
