An Ice-cream that washed my tears away

When I was seven years old, I remember enjoying a family celebration party at my parent's home in Toronto Ontario. Amongst us was Bruno and Luisa who lived with us during that time. I remember how they were always so generous and kind to me and my siblings. Bruno would alway pick me up and put me on his lap and say so many funny things that would always make me laugh. HIs own laugh was so contagious. He always, genuinely cared, how I was doing in school and offered advise and wisdom on how to always be a good person and how to watch out for myself. I remember that day of the family party, when he picked me up to hold in his arms and didn't notice the low cieling in the basement, so I hit my head. I started to cry and I noticed his concern for me. He and Luisa took me outside and they each held my hand and walked me to the corner store where Bruno asked the store owner to give me the biggest ice-cream they had to offer. They too bought an ice-cream, and we stood outside in the sunshine, eating this ice-cream together. My tears had gone but this warm memory of Bruno will stay with me forever. Thank you Bruno for all the times you made me laugh, for your humbleness and for your kindness.
