Robert W. French of Warminster, Pa. went home to be with the Lord on Thursday October 18th surrounded by his loving family. Bob fought bravely during a year long battle with cancer. He was 79. Born in Philadelphia on September 20, 1939, he was the only son of Robert N. and Isabelle (Toland) French, who preceded him in death. He was the beloved husband of Dianna French (Van Order) for 39 years. He is also survived by his children, Robert Michael French and Michele Prouty (Bob), step-sons Dan Van Order and Shawn Van Order (Karen). His 4 wonderful grandchildren, Amanda & Joshua Prouty, Dan & Matthew Van Order, and his sister Shirley in Florida. He was Uncle Bob to many nephews and nieces, and will be fondly remembered by all. His little loving dog, Tater, will miss him as the keeper of her treats. He proudly served his country in the Air Force. He began a life long career at a company in Philadelphia called Penn Salt. When it moved to Warminster it became Pennwalt and most recently became Alpha Laval. Bob started right after graduating from Monsignor Bonner High School, only to take a leave and join the Air Force, after which he returned to the company. Starting in the mail room, he worked his way up through the years to become Financial Manager of Plant Operations. He enjoyed many hobbies such as being on the bowling league, golf league, Chess team and many others. He also loved going to the South Jersey shore, he would spend many long days fishing from his boat. Wildwood was always one of his favorite places to be. Funeral will be held Thursday, October 25th. Bob's family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am with service following. Decker Funeral Home, 216 York Road, Warminster, Pa. 18974. Interment will be private.
