Joseph P. Friel of Jamison passed away Wednesday, September 12. He was 88. Joe was the loving husband for 67 years to the late Betty Friel (nee McDonough). Born in the Swampoodle section of Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Michael and Nora (Fitzpatrick) Friel. Joseph was a retired Upper Moreland Police Officer. He is survived by his children, Kathleen Schweizer, Joseph (Maureen), Evelyn (Billiemichelle), and John (Colleen); grandchildren, Allison, Joseph, Patrick, Russell, and Caitlin; and great-grandchildren Jamie, Cody and Jackson. He is also survived by his siblings Michael, Patrick, and Sister Nora Friel GNSH and by his late sisters and brothers Rosemary, Kathleen, John, Lawrence, William and Edward.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 10 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, at St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Road, Jamison. Burial will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery in Chalfont.
